Issued Mar. 12, 2019 by the Agricultural Statistics Board of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's, National Agricultural Statistics Service. For more information, contact Dan Kerestes at dan.kerestes@nass.usda.gov, (202) 720-3896 .

Every five years, NASS conducts a program review following the completion of the Census of Agriculture. The review considers the latest information from the census, estimates from the current annual estimating programs, and administrative data to ensure that the NASS annual estimating program adapts to reflect changes in agriculture. NASS also considers public input, which was requested with the program review announcement on October 31, 2018.

Program changes balance resources across all of the NASS estimating programs, which represents over 400 individual reports. They can take the form of additions, deletions, or adjustments. Based on the latest review, a number of changes have been made and can be found at www.nass.usda.gov/Surveys/Program_Review
